As the modified Jordan 1‘s name suggests, the model is built with enhanced comfort, which is achieved by reworked cushioning around the collar and in the sole unit. A layer of exposed foam delivers a bootie-like fit, and works in-tandem with the spongey tongue for a lightweight, soft fit. As scarlet branding on the tongue and insole denote, full-length Zoom Air makes its way underfoot, which elevates the 35-year-old-design’s ride. The tri-colored option forgoes any metal studs found on a previously-released “Sisterhood” iteration, but maintains cutout swooshes, a breathable ankle underlay and partially-unstitched panels around the collar and heel. While the mixed-materials upper divides itself between “Chile Red,” “University Gold” and “Black” hues, the midsole and outsole combination opts into the tried-and-tested white and “Black” combination, although the latter is accompanied by the pair’s titular red hue.
